1 Poem by Allegra Jostad Silberstein

Quantum Entanglement

When I first heard these words
first heard the vague explanation
of particles entangled
I thought to myself, of course,
the heart knew it all along:
the enchanted evening syndrome
where you see someone across the
crowded room and know you’re
connected...

                   I understood
this without naming it
the first time your eyes met mine
...some particle of my body
                      a part of you...

through years and centuries
we have evolved...
who knows what split particles
have entered...who knows
the unknown
             quantum entanglements
that teach
         the strumming of the heart
